IN-FLIGHT REFUELLING

We advocate for the use of in-flight refuelling for commercial aircraft and we hold a number of patents for technologies specifically associated with this system, which we call the Cable and Drogue method. We believe that there are substantial opportunities to benefit the environment, consumers and the broad aviation sector that could be captured through the application of in-flight refuelling for commercial passenger and freight aircraft. We believe that a radically different approach to that successfully used in the military sector for many decades is needed and now is the time to implement this.

A century of in-flight refuelling

The in-flight refuelling concept dates from 1921, when the first patents were obtained in the US, although the first practical known example of its use was in 1923.
